Exciting tech news this week for those seven people still interested in smart watches: that Motorola is set to launch a new range of eco-friendly, dolphin-friendly, Facebook friend-friendly devices for the wrist. The US company has been rumored to be launching a new set of devices for some time, and this week has announced plans for its new line in the Moto series.

Out of those seven people still interested, Dave McCallum, owner of blog "Smart Watches are totally, like, useful", has declared most of his interested on the new flagship model, the circularly named Moto 720.

"It's interesting, because the previous flagship Moto 360 is almost exactly half of 720, which surely means that this new watch will be at least twice as good, if not more. I suspect that 720 is just a rounding down of what is probably a much larger figure."

Mathematically challenged McCallum continued:

"I'm expecting the the Moto 720 to possibly have two screens: one on the front where I can read the time, and one of the back that can present the latest stock market data directly to my blood cells."

Motorola is set to unveil its new timepieces over the next week, probably by taking them round to local fairs, car-boot sales and garage clear outs. Early rumours that the watch would be capable of permanently scarring your wrist to create funky tattoos are said to be, sadly, wide of the mark.
