In a burst of amusing self-deprecation, the French have begun bottling and selling a wine labelled as "Arrogant Frog". Apparently this is in attempt to capture wider-world sales, particularly in the US and UK, I imagine. As funny as we might find it, and for any respect we might have toward the French makers, I still suspect they are doing it all through very, very gritted teeth.
WHAT do Arrogant Frog and Elephant on a Tightrope have in common? Faced with a slump in consumption and increasing competition from abroad, the French are suffering the indignity of having to pick funny names for their wine to sell it abroad.
