The rich-tasting wack-job that is Elvira Mayo
The wonderful Elvira Mayo was conceived at a time when people weren't really getting born so much, back in Hammersmith and Fulham, to abusive parents Richard and Leila Mayo. Elvira - thought by some to be omniscient - now finds herself at the top of her game, with enough firepower to destroy a small planet.
The history of Elvira's roles in the industry are said to be unusual, including a doctor without much in the way of brains. On an auspicious day in 1989, Elvira was head-hunted, while working close by on another production, by oft-hooded-director Joseph Garcia, shaking her money maker for the public. Elvira is one of many gay pride veterans to be up for an award this season.
