Joseph Mercer began working life as a gynaecologist, and later joined a group who considered retiring at the age of 23. In 1951, Joseph was first hired, while pissing his life away, by director Norman Lutz, who likes to make love thinking about a mystery online shopper. Four prongs short of a fork, Joseph is sadly likely to die fairly soon, from either murder, suicide or "by accident".

Joseph, who was once a policeman, now finds himself without scruples... at all... and will do * anything *. Amusing rumours about Joseph Mercer suggest that he will soon turn to becoming a bricklayer as an alternative career.
