UFC Women's Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk wants to fight the winner of Saturday's UFC 215 co-main event between reigning Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko. Speaking to UFC Magazine today, the Polish Champion was still expressing disappointment over not being able to fight Shevchenko at UFC 213 back in July as a replacement for the Brazilian who pulled out of the bout at the last minute for medical reasons.
"I really wanted to fight Valentina that night and get some revenge for a loss in a Muay Thai bout that I suffered to her earlier in my career. She would have definitely seen that I am a much different fighter now. I know that I could have beaten her or Amanda. It doesn't matter to me. I am not afraid of taking on any woman, anywhere and anytime."
Asked if she thought that she may be taking a big risk seeing that both Nunes and Shevchenko are very experienced fighters in the 135 lb. weight class, Jedrzejczyk expressed confidence in her own ability to take on the best in the Bantamweight Division and even criticized the Strawweight Division for its "lack of competition".
"Look to tell you the truth, I am quite confident in my own ability to take on and defeat the best fighters because I am the best in the world. Even your own website ranks me as the best women's pound-for-pound fighter. I don't think that you were lying were you? And to be frank, there isn't much competition in the Strawweight Division. Like I said earlier after one of my wins - this UFC competition is a war and if there is going to be a war, who's next? I just want to fight whoever wins so that I can prove to the world that Joanna's Violence is far more dangerous and scarier than being shot by a Bullet or mauled by a Lioness."
She concluded.
