Pope Francis defends opening of Mc Donald's restaurant in the Vatican

Despite all the protests from residents and cardinals, Pope Francis has come out in defense of the opening of a Mc Donald's restaurant in the Vatican. Speaking to L'Osservatore della Domenica today, the Holy Father had this to say:

"I honestly can't understand all the brouhaha over the opening of a harmless restaurant which people from all over the world have known for years. What are all those protesters trying to say? That it is sinful to eat a burger? What about the amount of people this restaurant is going to employ? Think about the amount of hungry people that it is going to feed. Don't you know that there are scores of people who don't know how to cook and that buying a cheap ready-prepared meal is the only way that they get to eat something during the day? This is the way the Lord works. One must never question the plans the good Lord has for us. Answer me this, would Jesus send you to hell for eating a Big Mac? Also why am I being judged for trying to help people? Didn't Jesus say in Matthew 7:1-"Judge not, that ye be not judged"? "

The Pontiff concluded the interview by saying:

"Apparently these sinners are not aware that I am God's representative on earth and that just like him I am infallible. But that's okay if they criticize me because just like God I am always there to forgive them of their sins."
