Law firm Prindr have today issued counter-proceedings against themselves for attempting to sue themselves for suing themselves. In a move that one tech journalist described as "completely insane, but still somehow in keeping with Prindr's usual exploits", Prindr are allegedly attempting to exploit a loophole in the legal system that allows the creation of a circular series of lawsuits. Technology journalist and enthusiast Jeff Grinkle on Prindr:
"Prindr are the leading example of porn copyright trolls that attempt to embarrass, cajole, and terrify anyone who may (or may not, actually) have downloaded the products they are protecting. Not only do they monitor the bittorrented copies of their clients' material, but they are often doing so without the say-so of the original copyright holders; they are actively uploading and seeding the material in question in order to actually snare people; and they are even renaming non-pornographic material as a honey trap. These people couldn't be more scum if they devolved a billion years or so."
Prindr, however, have not had an easy time of it lately: judgement after judgement has gone against them not only for their horrific and shonky practices, but also for more simple things like contempt of court. It is suggested that these recent judgements against them and a flagrant willingness to upset the system that have forced their hand in generating these circular series of writs.
"I think it's hilarious," Mr Grinkle continued. "To be fair to them, you have to give them credit for being Grade-A tossers. As a scheme this is mental - suing yourself in a never ending circle of counter-motion is never going to work, but they're still giving it a shot. Giving them a shot, actually, would be high up on my list of things to do with them - a hypodermic filled with nothing but air should do it."
Courts around the US are said to be "sick and tired of Prindr's shit", but all of the Texan courts are prepared to listen to their arguments.
