Mo Farah, British hero of the 2012 London Olympics, has today been arrested after a sting operation by the trademark division of , allegedly for the mimicry of an M symbol. The track athlete was bundled into a police car just after 10am today, following a training session at the Feisty Whippet running track in East Ealing. UK police have so far declined to confirm the exact nature of the charges, but leaks suggest that this has been coordinated by US officials working on behalf of fast-food outlet McDonalds. An email that has been received by various media organisation purports to contain the impetus behind the search and arrest, and reads:
"While we appreciate that Mr Farah is an outstanding little runner, the M symbol that he does on top of his shiny head is clearly a trademark violation of our client, McDonalds corporation. Please use extreme prejudice in following this up for us. Cheers muchly, Cassandra Parkinson, Biggus Dickus Law. xxx"
Speculation that Farah's symbolic gesture was, in fact, in reference to his last name, has been shot down by various social commentators. Facebook in particular has been alight with rumour and conjecture about the amazing runner and his catchy bodily origami.
"*******," said one. "Nobody calls themselves by their last name unless they have a cool one, like Bolt. Nah, this fella is having a laugh. It's just as easy to create an F symbol using your arms and maybe your John Thomas. Lazy excuse. No sympathy."
More as it comes in.
