The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has stated that from the beginning of August Westerners who love to see graphic images will get a chance to see them when it begins streaming public executions and floggings. In an official message which was broadcasted live on Saudi state television, King Salman had this to say:
"We all know that there are many Westerners who are fans of violent entertainment. Especially Americans. That's why Hollywood produces such films like Saw and Hostel. Why must they get a cheap thrill from watching something that is fiction when they can see the real thing? So starting next week when August begins, Westerners will be able to stream the public executions and floggings live on www.saudiculture.com. I personally believe that it would be a good thing because people will be getting a taste of Saudi culture right in the comfort of their homes. No longer will you have to settle for watching delayed videos of executions on ogrish.com. Where is the fun in watching a recorded video of an execution?"
The King further went on to state that the website will provide a downloadable schedule of the daily executions and floggings which will be taking place so that the viewers will know when to log in. He concluded by saying that he hopes it in no way deters Westerners from visiting his wonderful country, but that the law has to be carried out swiftly and promptly. He did advise potential viewers though that it would be best if they watch the punishments on an empty stomach.
