Valentina Shevchenko claims that the reason why Amanda Nunes was awarded UFC 215 title fight is because the Brazilian is an open lesbian

Valentina Shevchenko is claiming that the only reason why she lost the UFC 215 Women's Bantamweight title fight by split decision to Amanda Nunes is the fact that the Brazilian Champion is an open lesbian. Speaking to the media after the bout in which she lost for the second time to Nunes, the irate Peruvian challenger had this to say:

"I was robbed. Anyone who saw that fight can tell you that I landed more punches and also the cleaner punches. Are you telling me that Amanda taking me down late in the fifth round was the reason why I lost this fight? I'm not buying that nonsense one bloody bit."

She continued:

"Whatever Amanda threw at me, I was always ready to respond. I am the best counter-puncher in Women's MMA and Amanda knows full well that I hurt her with my shots. I don't know what those judges saw. But it's quite obvious that this decision was motivated by political correctness."

Asked to clarify what she meant by that, Shevchenko has this response which left reporters stunned:

"Oh come on. You mean you don't know? Amanda is the first Champion in Women's UFC who is an open lesbian. Of course they will award her the fight. She has to be made to feel that she is representing the LGBTQ community. She is the one whom they look up to for inspiration. The one who gives them hope that they can accomplish something despite the insurmountable odds stacked against them."

Questioned further if she thinks that such insensitive comments would be viewed by many as being homophobic in nature, Shevchenko had this reply:

"Of course not. What did I say in my response that is homophobic? Did I say that I hated lesbians? But one has to really wonder what is the UFC trying to say when they can award a fight to a woman who clearly didn't win it? If Amanda was straight you know damn well that I would have been awarded the bout."

In her response, Nunes had this to say:

"Well, well, well. This alone goes to show you how low Valentina will go to get attention. Why does she have to insult a whole group of people just because I kicked her ass again? Valentina knows damn well that I beat her ass fair and square. That is why she has to take cheap shots at me. She had two chances to beat me and she couldn't do it. That is why tonight she felt the wrath and power of ten thousand butch lesbians pounding the shit out of her face and body. She may call herself Bullet, but all she really ever does against me is fire blanks."
