Shocking news today as Bing!, Microsoft's much maligned search engine, has today overtaken Google to become the world's most used search engine.
In a unusual move of modesty, the Redmond company have yet to fully embrace the marketing opportunities thrown up by the findings, but are said to privately "delighted". Google, in the meantime, have taken to their own social media network, Google+, to try to diminish Bing!'s apparent success.
"Bing! - a name so stupid they have to exclaim it. Or should be call it the Bing Bang? We don't know, and barely care. Microsoft can go f**k itself."
We asked one social commentator, Archie Gemmler, what he thought of Google's response.
"It's subtle. If Google had said something like that in an email or on Twitter then it would be being hounded non-stop by people screaming 'Think of the children'. But as it is, it did it on G+ which nobody uses. It's a bit like travelling to the room in your house that is surrounded by most walls, just so you can fart without your significant other finding out."
In other news, Google has today announced plans to purchase any company on the internet that broadcasts usage statistics.
